Rock 'n' Roll Charter 2013
A 1950’s style menu, décor, vintage motorcycles and optional fancy dress which many people took advantage of on the night which included teddy boys, pink ladies, rockers, rollers and even Sergeant Bilko! The raffle organised by Rotarian Linda Hanbury raised £455 in aid of under-privileged children in local schools.

Dawnbreakers joined forces with The Grand Order of Water Rats to put on a Variety Show in the local Chatswoth Arts Centre theatre in Long Eaton.
Money was raised for both the theatre and Water Rats charities.
Walk to Stanhope 2012
The club organised a walk to a local pub during the summer. A chance to relax and enjoy a good meal (it's not all fund raising!).
Southport Conference 2012
This year's conference was attended by a large proportion of the club and a good time was had by all despite the "Freddie Mercury" tribute act which was not quite what we expected. As always the club looked at the funny side of things and attended the Saturday evening entertainment wearing their Freddie Mercury tribute mustaches.

We were please to accept an invitation by Bill Smith from Bulwell and Basford Rotary Club to have a go at clay pigeon shooting. A great evening with friends and an excellent buffet laid on by Bill.
RIBI President visit 2012
We were please to welcome John Minhinick, RIBI President 2012/13 to one of our club meetings at Cafe Zing.
Magic Lantern Show 2012
The club was treated to a special evening held at Profiles Portrait Studio in Stapleford which is owned by Andris, one of our members. Stuart Cooke gave an intersting presentation including the history of magic lanterns.
Long Eaton has got talent 2012
Third place was “I surrender”, a talented young band playing a medley of songs from the 1950’s. Simon Davey (President) said that he was proud to see talented people taking part in Long Eaton's Got Talent.

Laura Chapman (Singer) was the winner taking home the first prize of £250. The event helped to raise over £1000 for the Chatsworth Arts Centre which will go towards future refurbishment work and further £250 for Treetops Hospice.

Kings Village Ghana 2012
Nick Jackson has been working with Kings Village in Ghana for the past couple of years to help improve fresh water systems, crop growing and health facilities. Dawnbreakers have supported this project enabling a new water storage system and crops to be grown.
Olympic Gamesmakers 2012
Thanks to Graham Smith our speaker finder Dawnbreakers enjoyed two interesting talks from Mike Saunders and Mike Haynes who took part in the 2012 Olypmics and Paralympics as Gamesmakers. Both speakers were involved in different areas which covered sailing, boxing and judo.
Games Evening at Church Wilne 2012
The evening included food and games including Jenga, Connect 4 and Bar Skittles to name but a few. As winners of the event we will have to host the games next time so we will have to look at a date for 2013!
Christmas meeting at Cafe Zing 2012
Our last meeting before Christmas at Cafe Zing. Everyone dressed for the occasion and Linda Hanbury organised a festive quiz, food and drinks.
Tour of Trent College Arboretum 2012
In August 2012 Nick Jackson, one of our members organised a tour around Trent College Arboretum by David Penny a retired teacher. We had an interesting evening learning about the many species of trees in and around the grounds, some of which were very rare.

Bollywood Charter 2012
Every year the club celebrates it's birthday with a Charter Night. This years theme was Bollywood.
Shelterbox 2012
In 2012 Long Eaton Dawnbreakers will be donating money to buy at least one Shelterbox and one Aquabox for disaster relief throughout the world.

The New Rope String Band performed for us at Long Eaton School in aid of Rotary Charities, an unusual group of very talented musicians.
Nottingham Marathon 2009
Dawnbreakers joined forces with local Treetops Hospice to raise money for their deserving charity which cares for a wide range of people with terminal illness.
Long Eaton's Got Talent 2009
Dawnbreakers have successfully organised two Long Eaton's Got Talent competitions involving talented people of all ages from the local community and surrounding areas to raise money for the Air Ambulance and a local theatre group.

Some of our members visited Crich Tramway Museum for a Charter Evening with a 1940's theme.
Cricket Club 2011
We were invited to help out at West Park Cricket Club to redecorate the changing facilities. The event was sponsored by NatWest Bank and attended by many cricket stars including Mike Gatting.
Bulb planting 2010
To raise awareness of the campaign to eradicate Polio worldwide Dawnbreakers organised a crocus bulb planting at West Park Long Eaton.
Battle of the Bands 2009
A successful event held at Wilsthorpe School with bands taking part from all genre's of music.
