Dear Stephen,

I’m writing to thank you and all your friends and colleagues from the Long Eaton Dawnbreakers Rotary Club who helped collect at the Long Eaton Tesco Store and raised a staggering £1,017.29 for Cancer Research UK. This is a fantastic amount of money which will go towards the research that is saving lives and finding cures for cancer.

As I’m sure you are aware Cancer Research UK is the world’s leading charity dedicated to saving lives through research. Cancer survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years and our work has been at the heart of this progress. There are over 200 different types of cancer and we are the only UK charity with the expertise and knowledge to tackle them all. We support around 200 cancer trials, with over 30,000 volunteers taking part to help us to develop new and better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

Thank you once again for your generous support. Cancer Research is entirely funded by the public and receives no government funding for its research. Our vision for beating cancer is an enormous challenge, but amazing people like you are helping us to achieve this.

Take care and together we will be cancer.

Yours sincerely,

Rebecca Elphick

Area Volunteer Manager, Cancer Research UK.
